Welcome to my life, you see it is not easy, but I'm doing allright

It might have been just a typical, lazy Sunday. But it wasn't. Harriet was sitting in the chair, drinking coffee. She felt herself tired - she'd been up last eighteen hours and she still got eight hours to go. She really loved her job, but it was always very hard to stay up for a whole day long. Harriet yawned - it was only 3 pm. Usually Harriet's unit had a lot of cases during the day, but this day was really quiet, nearly too quiet. Harriet had been driving around the city with her working vehicle - the ambulance - for last few hours, but it really didn't help much. Of course it was good, that Harriet and Charles - her working partner - had nothing to do, because it also meaned that no-one had been severely injured. In the end, Harriet only saw the bottom of her coffeecup. There was no coffee left. Now she was really bored.
"Charles? Could we do, mm... Something?" Harriet sighed.
It took a moment, before Charles answered to Harriet. He was watching tv - The Bold and The Beautiful.
"Charles? You really think that's more interesting than me?" Harriet laughed.
"Maybe a little, but don't worry about it, hun. So, what were you thinking?" Charles asked.
Harriet had no idea. She just wanted to take all this boredom away - well, she actually didn't want to work, but she just wanted to do at least something. She wasn't too keen on watching The Bold and The Beautiful, so harriet closed her eyes for a while. Maybe they could have a girlish wrestlingmatch or then they could plan their next working shift - which one of them would drive, which car they'd take and so on.

But it wasn't possible - Harriet and Charles had a call. A woman in her 40's had hurt herself, her left leg was broken and she had some pre-signs of a shock. Quite typical case, but at least they now had something to do.
"You're driving, I'm nursing", Harriet said, when she jumped into the car.
The accident had happened in The Dollar, so they didn't have to drive for a long time. Harriet didn't know Devon Street so well, but she definately knew where The Dollar was and where the main corridor of the shopping centre was located. They weren't in a rush, really, but Charles drove fastly and in a few minutes they had parked the ambulance in front of the small shopping centre. Harriet jumped out of the ambulance first. She walked straightly into the main corridor and tried to look out for their patient. In the halfway of the corridor, there was sitting one woman. With few other women around her. The woman was holding her leg, so it couldn't be anyone else.
"I think it's her", Harriet said to Charles, who was now walking beside her.
Charles nodded and now Harriet was following her.
"Good afternoon! So, what's happened in here?" Charles asked.
But Harriet couldn't do anything. She just stared the woman in front of her. Why, why now? Why couldn't someone else have taken this case? Why them? Harriet really didn't want to do this. She felt like an idiot. No, she couldn't do this. She just wanted to run away - just quit.
"Harriet?" Charles asked.
"You going to do something before the sun goes down again?"
But still, Harriet couldn't answer. She just stared Kitty.
"So what did you do? Broke your leg on purpose? You don't need an ambulance", Harriet said with poison in her voice.
She didn't want to tell Charles that the lady sitting in front of them was her biological mother. Harriet could only feel the anger inside her - this was just a big, bad and ridiculous nightmare. No, this wasn't her life.

But it was.

On sitten nuo aikamuodot ihan päin pebaa...]

Kitty was walking alone in the rain. She had lost her umbrella, so she was wet and also very tired. Last few days she had been very busy. Right now Kitty was going to have a small shopping in the local, small shoppingcentre The Dollar. She was going to buy new shoes for the winter. She hated winter, it was cold and dark and rainy. And in London all the snow came usually down on water (=Lontossa kaikki vesi tuli yleensä alas vetenä.)
It has been a month since she met her daughter Harriet. She had thought the girl every day, but she didn't know what to think. She loved Harriet, but it seemed that the girl didn't love her. Kitty turned her walk into run, because it stared to rain harder (=Kitty vaihtoi kävelynsä juoksuun, koska alkoi sataa kovemmin.)

The Dollar was nice and homely little shoppingcenter, where Kitty liked to do her shopping. It was never full of people and there you could find all you needed. Kitty find the staircase and started to climb to the second floor. But suddenly a teenage boy ran down the stairs and pushed she over. (=Teini-ikäinen poika juoksi rappusia alas ja tönäisi hänet kumoon.)
"Stop that boy", yelled the guards and ran after that boy. Kitty falled and furted her leg. She fell down the stairs and hit also her head.
The leg hurted so much, that she started to cry. Teardrops fell from her eyes, but she noticed it when her hands got wet with tears.
"Someone, call 112. We need and ambulance", someone yelled and landed next to Kitty. "Let me help you. Give me your hand. Lets walk near that wall (=kävellään tuon seinän luokse.) Kitty didn't hear anything. it hurted so much.

After few minutes the amublance came. The nurces ran to The Dollar and found them soon. Kitty looked up and saw someone she would not have liked to see (=Kitty katsoi ylös ja näki jonkun, jota ei olisi halunnut nähdä.)
"Harriet..." she wispered and tried to smile. Another nurce, Charles, asked Harriet what was she waiting for. But Harriet just watched and said something. She looked a little confuced, but everyone could see the hate in her eyes.
"Harriet, please. Not now. Just help me", Kitty asked very quietly. She wanted to get out, to the hospital. She had never been in a hospital before.
"Well, are you going to help this poor lady or not?" Someone asked and stared (=tuijotti?) Harriet.
Charles looked Harried angry. "C'moon, Harriet. I need some help down here. Bring me some cold, fast", he commanded.
Kitty was too tired to say anything. She fainted on the floor (=hän pyörtyi lattialle.)

Harriet couldn't believe her eyes. Her own, biological mother - right in front of her eyes. Even though she was a paramedic, she really didn't want to help. She just wanted to run away to some place, where she wouldn't have to think about the whole situation anymore. This seemed like a big fat lie or a ridiculous joke. Harriet couldn't even laugh. She just stared at Kitty and tried to keep tears away from her eyes. It was hard, but she really tried. Then she heard a voice that dragged Harriet back to reality.
"Well, I think I have to", she said with sarcasm in her voice.
Charles tried to do something, but Kitty lost her conciousness. Oh gosh - this was just like one of Harriet's nightmares.
"No, we have to take her to the hospital. I'll cool that break when we get to the ambulance", Harriet said.
"Some water, please? Anyone?" Harriet said with a loud voice.
An old lady brought some water and Harriet tried to get Kitty to drink some. That helped, Kitty was now all awake again. It really didn't make Harriet any happier, but now Kitty could walk. Charles could help her and well - Harriet had to help her too.
"So now we're getting up", she said to Kitty.
The walking part was hard, but they managed all the way to the ambulance. Harriet made Kitty to lie down to the bed. Charles drove and Harriet was nursing - as they had planned before Harriet knew, that the patient would be Kitty.

Even though Harriet didn't want to, she had to nurse Kitty.
"Your name, dob and add?" Harriet asked. She had to fill the gaps in her papers with Kitty's basic information.
"Where does it hurt? Does it hurt if I push it from here?" Harriet asked, pushing Kitty's knee.
It took a while when Harriet tried to examn the leg. But still, she wasn't a doctor, so she couldn't say anything for sure. She thought that the leg'd be broken and Harriet told that to Kitty, too.
"We have to take you to the hospital. They are going to take x-ray pics from your leg and after that you'll know what they are going to do with it. Should I call to someone? You hope that you could have anyone from your... Family with you?"
Harriet tried to act like a professional, but she was scared. Even Charles could notice that. She didn't know if she'd like to go with Kitty to the hospital, or should Harriet call to her mother.

Kitty took glass of water, which Harriet gave him. The water tasted so good, after all this. But then came the hardest part: walking to the ambulance. Harriet and Charles helped her, but she could only jump with one leg - and she was no londer a teenager. At last, when they arrived to the car, Kitty took a nice position. The leg wasn't so painfull anymore, but it did hurt a lot.
Then Harriet started to ask some questions. Kitty knew her sister, so she knew Harriet.. Harriet was a bit confused, and maybe a little afraid of something? But that was hard to see, Kitty knew it only because Margaret always looked like that when she was nervious.
"Ash, Harriet, you know my name. Kitty Honslow. And my address, you know it too. And I definitely know, that you know, that I have no relatives in here. maybe my sister, but she's not interested in me after all these years. But I have a daughter..." she said and watched Harriet. "Harriet, I have thought you every day since we met last time. Please, can you talk to me as I was your friend?" Kitty asked. She really had missed her daugter.. her own daughter. Kitty felt, that all this was supposed to happen, that everything had a reason. This was not an stupid coincidence.

Harriet didn't answer, but Kitty saw that she was thinking hard. Harriet said, that they were now going to the hospital.
"I knew that!" Kitty said and tried to smile to her daughter. "Harriet, look at me. Could you please tell me, is this something serious? I would like to walk someday. It doesn't hurt so much anymore, but still.."
"And could you tell about this when you get home? To Margaret? Could you bee so kind to your mother." Kitty really wanted to show Harriet, that she was regretting all stupid things she had done, but also show, that she loved Harriet so much. Kitty really hoped that Harriet could also lay down his axe and tried to understand.

Soon they arrived to the hospital. It was time to walk.. again. Some other men came to help her. Someonee bringed her a wheelchair, so they could move her easily.
"Harriet, could you take care of her? The doctor will be here here in 30 minutes, but she must not be alone if the pain grows up", said man, who was called Chris. "Is that okey?" he asked, but didn't stay to hear the answer. Soon he was gone and the mother and the daughter sat alone in the small waiting room.

((Heei, ja anteeksi hirmuisesti todella, TODELLA pitkästä vastauksen kestosta! Ajattelin ennen vastauksen kirjoittelua kysäistä, haluatko yhä jatkaa tätä peliä? Mä jatkan kyllä oikein mielelläni omalta osaltani, mutta jos sulla on mennyt inspis tähän mun nettitakkuilujen + muiden puolesta, ymmärrän kyllä)) :)
